Angel Breiannah Z. Nania, 17 years old is currently studies at Paaralang Sekundarya ng Lucban Integrated School (PSLIS) in Brgy. Aliliw, Lucban, Quezon, Philippines. She is in Senior High School (Grade 12) and taking an Academic track in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
What’s your favourite subject at school/college and why?
My favorite subject right now is Earth Science because my teacher has a very good strategy at teaching it. Despite initially finding it boring, I now enjoy studying about our Earth. I like the friendly environment and teachers at my school. However, I wish to change its location as commuting is tiring, and transportation expenses are a significant part of my school budget.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is Architecture. I am inclined to Architecture field because I love to design houses. Sad, I can’t take it as my college course because we don’t have it in our near State University, so instead I applied for Computer Engineer. I applied to other out of town Universities that has Architecture course, hoping I could passed it. But I don’t know If I’m going to pursue it. My parents can’t afford to rent me a boarding house (If ever I didn’t pass a scholarship there) and the expenses the equipments on taking Architecture is no joke. So I guess I’ll take the near one. The available State University here is just a walk away from home so I think that’ll be a big help to reduce my expenses on college and also, it’ll help my parents.
What is the best thing about being a teenager in your country?
As a current teenager, I think the best thing about being a teenager here is how we are trying new things. Of course puppy love is one of them haha. I never grew up into a privilege family, so I can say that the best thing a teenager who’s like me here is the fact that we are trying to be independent and not relying to our parents’ for our own satisfaction. It feels so good when you know that the things you wanted are all product of your hard-work.
What languages do you speak? What country would you like to visit?
I speak two languages, and they are English and Tagalog/Filipino. I am also learning a few languages from other countries. Currently, I am learning Nihongo/Japanese and Hangul/Korean. It is somewhat challenging because they have both traditional and modern aspects. As I mentioned, I am learning Japanese and Korean languages, and I would like to visit these countries because I love Anime and Korean Drama/Pop. Additionally, I appreciate how clean they’re places are.
What is your favourite food? What’s your favourite TV show and why?
My favourite food is creamy chicken soup, sisig, and adobo, of course. These foods are my comfort food. As for my favorite TV show, it’s entitled “The Big Bang Theory.” It is a sitcom series. I watched the whole 12 seasons of it, and now I’m still rewatching it. This show means a lot to me because when I was having an emotional crisis, I watched it every time I went home from school. It helped me cope.
Where is your quiet place that you go to relax?
I think my quiet place that I go to relax is at the beach, watching the sunset while sitting on the seashore, and meditating. It’s the best thing I could ever have.
If you could only take one thing on a desert island, what would you take?
If I could only take one thing on a desert island, I think it would be a boat, if that counts. If not, I’ll take a gallon of fresh water and hope I don’t die.
If you could have dinner with any one celebrity, who would you choose?
If I could ever have dinner with a celebrity, of course, it would be Jim Parsons. He’s a great actor!
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Lastly, if I could ever have a superpower, it would be the ability to fly. I know it’s common, but I want to see the beauty of the world and fly instantly to help those in need.
