Red paper carpet. Plastic Oscars. Tesco’s value popcorn. No expense was spared at Xaverian College’s Annual Film and Media Awards on a rainy June evening. We were so glad to be back after two years of Covid cancellations.

Film and Media students turned up in their finery (and Phil and Vinny in their sombreros) to showcase and celebrate the amazing coursework they had produced in 2022. Media Studies Awards were handed out for magazine production and music video planning. The top of Award of the night went to Izzy Clayton and Kaltum Ahmed for Best Magazine. In Film Studies students had produced short films, with the coveted Best Film Award going to Fran Ba and Alex Hampshire.

Well done to all our students for their hard work and creativity this year. We’re incredibly proud of the high standard of work they produce and it was great to celebrate it. And like all good parties, everyone left with a balloon!
